Living with Intention

Take a moment and think about the last time you put all of your attention and energy into your well-being. Where you prepared and ate your food without multitasking a bunch of other things. Where you went for a walk and thought only about the air entering your lungs, and the feel on the ground beneath your feet. Where you sat in meditation with the intention of your wellness at the center mind.


So many times, we put ourselves last on the list of priorities. True self care is not a luxury that can be overlooked. Your physical, mental, and spiritual health is necessary for daily life. If any part is lacking, your relationships, work life, family ties, and ability to function will suffer. Balance is needed in all things. Between home, work, and play. Between family, friends, and self. If one element overwhelms then all can feel the repercussions.


Make the conscious decision to live in the now.

  • Limit your electronics.

  • Go outside and listen to nature. Soak up sunshine. Let yourself connect to the power of the Earth~ it is more energizing than things man have made.

  • Eat meals prepared with whole foods for the best nutrition. Enjoy the flavors, textures and aromas.

  • Connect with the people in your life with intention. Listen to others the way you want to be heard.

  • Eat your meals mindfully~ engaging in face-to-face conversation without cell phones on the table or televisions to distract.

  • Give hugs and enjoy the feel-good endorphins they release.

  • Smile, as people tend to be more likely to smile back and engage with you.

  • Hold hands with your friends and family~ the power of touch is healing.

  • Make eye contact~ it conveys your attention and keeps you focused on the conversation.


Intentional living is a choice. It is choosing your health and well-being over convenience. Choosing mindfulness over mindless scrolling. Deciding to engage with humanity in a positive, healthy way. Live today acknowledging that self-care with intention is needed for your best life.
